History of Bluetooth:

Bluetooth technology was invented in 1994 by Swedish telecom company Ericsson. The name "Bluetooth" came from a 10th century Danish King Harald Bluetooth. King Harald unified Denmark and Norway and made them into one kingdom, which is symbolized by the Bluetooth logo, which is the combination of two Nordic runes.

The latest version of Bluetooth, 5.0, was released in 2016 and can achieve speeds up to 2 Mbps with a range of up to 800 meters.
